CULTURE AND MEDIA. TOURISM

Culture and media. Tourism

Pysanka, borscht, vyshyvanka are the words that are commonly associated with Ukraine all around the world. But apart from that, Ukrainian culture has a lot more things to interest the world. Besides tourist attractions and ancient architecture, these are modern cinematography and fashion, show business and theater, books and design.

What is the face of Ukraine, what could it become, how is it influenced by the media, how is Ukraine developing its tourist attractiveness―all these points will be highlighted at the Forum "Ukraine 30. CULTURE and MEDIA. Tourism" held on March 9, 2021.

Culture, media, and tourism are closely interlinked concepts. Numerous factors affect the existence and development of these three sectors in Ukraine. These factors include global, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and institutional, such as state policy or support for industries.

The Forum aims to trigger a large-scale discussion of the cultural and information state policies and their priorities. The discussion will be held in the context of creation, preservation, and protection of the Ukrainian cultural space, issues of national security, and “Great Reconstruction” and “Tourist Attractions” projects.

The representatives of the executive and legislative branches, the media, the tourism, fashion, film, creative industries, experts, public officials, foreign experts, and opinion leaders will contribute to the discussion.

The All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine 30. CULTURE and MEDIA. Tourism” will take place through March 9-11, 2021.

Forum objectives:

— mainstream the importance of information policy and freedom of speech as the basis of the country’s democracy in the Ukrainian society;

— discuss the methods to fight propaganda and media influence as a part of the hybrid war against Ukraine;

— discuss media legislation and issues of the content prohibition on Ukrainian TV channels;

— attract public attention to the cultural sphere as one of the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic;

— discuss the issues of creation, preservation, protection, and promotion of Ukrainian culture;

— discuss decision-making algorithms applied when setting priorities for information and cultural policies in Ukraine.
